What is the range of |x+4| - 7 ?
Range = all possible y-values... Well lets see that there is an absolute value sign in this equation...what do we know about that? Well it means that there will not be a negative number after we are done with those bars... So for example... |x + 4| lets say x = -5 ... |-5 + 4| = |-1| = 1 We cannot get a negative number there...but we can get a 0 (just make x = -4 there) So if that can only be (at it's lowest) 0....and then subtracting 7, we know that the lowest POSSIBLE number we can get from this equation is -7... Well that's one side...what about how high it can go? Well it looks to me that if is some GIANT number...we will get a giant number...then subtracting 7 from a giant number is like doing nothing...so it can go up to infinity... So the range would be from the lowest number...to the biggest number we can get...which is?
