A total of 638 tickets were sold for the school play. They were either adult tickets or student tickets. There were 62 fewer student tickets sold than adult tickets. How many adult tickets were sold?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Subtract.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 576 but you should check it

OpenStudy (cakt07):

All you have to do is subtract, 638 from 62

OpenStudy (cakt07):

And then you get 576. so there were 576 adult tickets.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

58-v=177 @cakt07

OpenStudy (cakt07):

All you have to do is,177-58

OpenStudy (cakt07):

119

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u do more?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Okay just hold on.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

im answering other pls questions while answering your question xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@johnweldon1993 @_CaraWells_

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-7 x (-9)= 6/ (-2)=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@_CaraWells_

OpenStudy (cakt07):

2 and -3

OpenStudy (cakt07):

first 1: 2 second: -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks can u 2 help with more?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-7 x (-9)= 63 6/ (-2)= -3

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Hey, @_CaraWells_

OpenStudy (cakt07):

no, i thought it was 2

OpenStudy (cakt07):

OH WAIT, @zendaya-replay-guy its 63 sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay im on a test i cant afford to be wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks can u do more?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7 x 9 is 63 and a negative and a negative make a positive & yes I can help more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much

OpenStudy (cakt07):

i thought negative + negative = Negative

OpenStudy (cakt07):

xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Welcome & no a negative and a positive makes a negative in multiplication and division.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Each of 6 students reported the number of movies they saw in the past year. This is what they reported: 20 , 12 , 12 , 12 , 16 , 11 . Find the median and mean number of movies that the students saw. If necessary, round your answers to the nearest tenth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Mean: average Median: Middle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SnowCrystal

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Solve for mean: Add all numbers together, and divide by how many numbers there are.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Solve for median: Put all numbers in correct order. EX: 11,12,12,12,16,20 Then find the middle number. So ... the middle number is 12

OpenStudy (cakt07):

wait sorry.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Wait, yeah i think it is 12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Median:12 Mean: @_CaraWells_ help

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

you rang lol sorry i was in the history section

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi @SnowCrystal i tried to pm u but the internet was to slow so it wouldnt send it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mean:13.83 (3 repeats) Median: 12

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

oh i just got ur pm im sorry i missed it

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Yup. @_CaraWells_ got it @zendaya-replay-guy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey if the mean 73.888888888 do i put it in there like that/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SnowCrystal it ok :)

OpenStudy (cakt07):

no the mean is 13.83 because the 3 repeats on a calculater

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help with more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u mean 78.83 lol

OpenStudy (cakt07):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (cakt07):

No 13.83

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's 13.83

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks u guys

OpenStudy (cakt07):

if you add all the numbers up on the calculater you get 83, then divide 83 by 6 and you get 13.83 (and the number 3 repeats)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says to round to the nearest tenth

OpenStudy (cakt07):

round what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct^ & you're welcome @zendaya-replay-guy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then it would be 13.8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Write an inequality for the following statement. y is less than 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9-y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it can be |dw:1394047089289:dw|
