Which formula would appear if you copied and pasted the cell containing the formula =SUM(A1:A4) from cell A5 to cell C6?

the formula would change to reflect the same operation on cells in the same relative position to the new cell. That is not true if any of the cell references have '$' before them, that tells excel not to update the column or row (whichever immediately follows the dollar sign)
