well let elise have e cards then miguel has 2e + 2 so together they have e + 2e + 2 = 971 or 3e + 2 = 971 hope it helps
but how many cards does each one of them have? how do you do the problem?
subtract 2 from both sides of the equation. then divide both sides of the equation by 3 that will give you elise's cards then you can calculate Miguels
