Manifest: Easily understood and/or easily recognized.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

>.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did I just repeat myself?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops, XD pretty much, sorry, I will send a link to you about it.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

I thought it was to expand and be all of america?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/manifest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Manifest Destiny was the pervasive belief in American cultural and racial superiority.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

O_o I'm getting so much mixed information >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did the wrong one :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do his/her, I did the wrong one I think.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Based on my simpler Encyclopedia... "Manifest Destiny was an idea that implied that the United States had the divine right to expand to the Pacific Ocean." If you want to get just a little bit more in depth... "The central idea of this position was that the US had a divine right to spread across the continent of North America and into the Pacific Ocean. A newspaper man named John L. O'Sullivan first used the term in 1845. President James K. Polk ran on a platform of what would be called Manifest Destiny. A belief in Manifest Destiny led to the U.S. fighting the Mexican-American War. It involved convincing Americans that the reason it was okay to fight, kill, and take the land from Mexicans or other non-Americans, was because God (or possibly the spirit of "Columbia") wanted them to cause this suffering. This belief continued to play a key role in the United States settlement of western lands, especially in the rush to California and in the U.S. taking over Oregon."

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

So I was right Darry? It was to expand to all over america?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be his because i am a male and yeah i think you did @ZachPieGuy no judging tho you tried

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Yes, yes you were right. What grade are you in? I took this last year...

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Oh wait, All over North America*. Not all of America. c;

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

I'm a junior xD you know this Darry considering you're my ex. >v<

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I know, but...I was confused, but now I remember you take U.S. History two times in high school. ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not in high school

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we can make it simple and say it is the right to expand in america and be allowed to because of racial superiority

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Well thanks for trying Zach. Thank you all :3 I have a couple more questions.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Oops, I meant one time in middle school and one time in high school. ;D

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Ask away. Remember research is everythin'. c;

OpenStudy (anonymous):
