They were strongly influenced by contemporary philosophers. These philosophers
said that whenever a strong central government was present in history,
despite the good intentions its leaders had at one point that that government would eventually descend into deep corruption and would infringe upon the natural rights of the citizens, this is what the founding fathers thought also.
