The founding fathers designed the united states goverment with a healthy fear of an overly strong central goverment. What were they afraid of? ( please list at least two specific examples.)

They were strongly influenced by contemporary philosophers. These philosophers said that whenever a strong central government was present in history, despite the good intentions its leaders had at one point that that government would eventually descend into deep corruption and would infringe upon the natural rights of the citizens, this is what the founding fathers thought also.
