With the first one, hobbies doesn't really have a huge impact on a adolescents life. Mainly because their hobbies change from time to time. Career paths aren't that huge of an impact on their lives either. Heck even adults change their career paths. Most often though, while adolescents are in school they worry about grades and so on. Such as their ranking among others, clothing, and so on.
Most kids learn to read by the time they are 3 years old. Well, they're working on it at least. I believe only about 30% (or less) of the nations population struggles to learn how to read. This is from lack of care, mental illnesses, and so on.
Honestly, I'd go with the third option.
