just press the Prt Sc button that's on most keyboards. 
Then to go some photo editing program (like paint) and paste.

If you have windows 7 or higher, you can also use the snipping tool to take a screenshot of a specific area on your screen. Just press the start button and search for snipping tool.

Snipping tool is the best way, it's in the start menu (if you have windows vista it's there too, not just windows 7)
