Having a SERIOUS brain fart! Assistance would be much appreciated!!
On a recent bar exam for future lawyers, 22% of the test takers passed the test. 78% of those who passed were first time test takers, and 60% of those who failed were first-time test takers. What percent of first-time test takers passed the test? A) 17% B)27% C)47% D)64% E)73%
i think it would be B
Y u think it is B
i calculate and got 26.33%
OK i did the same thing and got the same thing
@Euler271 please read the question carefully.
Thanks guys. how did you do that though?
Also, can you see if i got this right? blood type - O A B AB probability - 0.5 ? 0.2 0.05 using the table of probabilities above, the probability that the person chosen has blood type A is a)0.05 b)0.25 * c)0.27 d)0.40 d)0.65
umm on the other problem i SOME HOW GOT SOMETHING DIFFERENT i GOT 16.8 WHICK IF U SIMPLIED IT ITS 17
@Cpt.Sparz @FlvsGirl you guys think you would help with this?
Honesly dont know this one
probability of total outcomes is 1. which means ( probability of blood type O + probability of blood type A + probability of blood typeB+probability of blood type AB)=1 so 0.5 + probability of blood type A + 0.2 + 0.05=1 so probability of blood type A= 1-0.5-0.2-0.05=0.25
Awesome! that is basically what i did. Just seemed a little less complicated when i did it.. lol can you help with some stupid marble probability problem that i can't seem to figure out for some reason?
and @Eagle76 i got 17% too hwen i did it, but i didn't get the same initial number as you.. :/
