How did you get that?

For perimeter just add the sides. For area split the polygon into to separate rectangles.

And your answers are wrong the area and perimeter for the bottom shape is area=32
perimeter = 24. The top shape area = 16 and the top shape perimeter = 20

And if you want it all together just add the perimeter's together and add the area together.

@ajanijones you cant simply add the perimeters of the divided shapes together, as som of each shape will be internal, therefore no longer perimeter
