please please help

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Okay you want angle 'x' and you have 2 sides of the triangle...one side is opposite the angle..and the other is adjacent to the angle.. What trig function uses opposite and adjacent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know really cause this is geometry haha

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Odd, The only way I can think of is to use trigonometry.. Well, it is called the tangent function... \[\large \tan \theta = \frac{opposite}{adjacent}\] So you plug in what you know... \[\large \tan \theta = \frac{8}{15}\] And you want to solve for and angle...so you take the inverse tan of that... \[\large \theta = \tan^{-1} \frac{8}{15}\]

okay okay i think i got most of that thanks for helping

No problem!
