Someone please explain the two shoes with two sides for me.. Thank you ^_^ B. Knowing how much you actually weigh, how long would your shoes have to be to let you walk on water? If I have a mass of about 75 kg, then I weigh about 750 N (= mg). Since γ ~ 0.7 N/m, I would need a contact length of L = mg/γ ~ (750 N)/(0.7 N/m) or over 1 kilometer. Since I have two shoes and they have two sides, my shoes only have to be 250 m long.

I would have thought only the bottom shooe surfaces counted in terms of the interaction with the surface tension of water.
