Do you see how we now have 2 right triangles? now we can get the area of each one using the area formula! do you need the Area formula for right triangles?

you are correct! then you would just add those two areas together. The base and the height will be the ones that are not the hypotenuse. since 90 degrees is the largest possible angle for a triangle, you know that the bases and heights for the two triangles are NOT the ones across from the 90 degree angle
