Francis Bacon was an English Philosopher who believed that scientists should use inductive reasoning. Bacon was the person behind what we called the scientific method today. He wanted everything to be planned out and investigate all things. Francis Bacon was knighted in 1603 and had an unusual death since he died from Pneumonia after he had been studying the effects of freezing on meat preservation. He also served as the Attorney General and the Lord Chancellor of England.
