Which strategies can be used to solve this problem? A county fair plans to have 24 pigs in its pig exhibit area. Eight pigs can fit in a large circular pen. The rest of the pigs will be put into square pens that can each fit 2 pigs. What is the fewest number of square pens that will be needed so each pig is in a pen? Choose all answers that are correct. A. Work backward. Find the number of square pens by dividing 24 by 2. Then what is left over goes into the circular pen. B. Use logical reasoning. Subtract 2 pigs 7 times. The number of pigs left will be the number of pigs in the square pens. C. Translate into a number sentence. (24 – 8) ÷ 2 = D. Model the problem. Use 24 objects to represent the pigs. Move 8 objects into one group. Then put the remaining objects into groups of 2. Then count the groups of 2 to find the number of square pens.

Which strategies can be used to solve this problem? Griffin used 24 flowers to make 3 centerpieces for a party. Each centerpiece has the same number of flowers. He added 4 more flowers to each centerpiece. How many flowers are in each centerpiece now? Choose all answers that are correct. A. Translate into a number sentence. 24 – (3 + 4) = B. Use objects to represent the problem. Put 24 coins on a table and divide them into 3 equal groups. Then add 4 coins to each group. Count the number of coins in one group. C. Work backward. Start by multiplying 3 × 4 to get the number of additional flowers. Add this to 24 to get the total number of flowers. Then divide the sum by 3. D. Use logical reasoning. Add 4 more flowers to 24 flowers. Then divide the sum by 3.

no im not gonna pass it says all

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

actually, only B and C. BECAUSE in D you only add 4 to the total. Not add four to each.
