how would you compare and contrast the 3 types of friction?
static friction,(usually largest) is a fraction of the force perpendicular to the surface while not moving. kinetic friction (usually smaller) is a smaller fraction of the force normal (or perpendicular) to the surface once the object starts sliding, moving. the third type might be "rolling friction" which is usually the smallest of frictions, a fraction times the force normal to the surface, here also can be static (not moving) rolling friction, and kinetic (moving) rolling friction
The problem with rolling friction is that it is usually completely misunderstood for static friction while rolling. @kassandra_rodriguez, can you tell us what the third type of friction in your question is supposed to be?
