When the number w is mu

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is their more to it???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When the number w is multiplied by 4, the result is the same as when 4 is added to w. What is the value of 3w? (a) 3/4 (b) 1 (c) 4/3 (d) 3 (e) 4 I'm thinking w is going to be a negative number? How would I go about solving this? Thanks!

@beccaboo333 @Compassionate can you all help please I think i know it but not positive

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\Large\bf\sf 4w\quad=\quad 4+w\]Solve for w! :) Or solve for 3w, whatever is easier.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it is 4

@zepdrix

Thank You all for your help !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(c) 4/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause 4w=4+w so w=4w-4 if we want 3w give 3w=12w-12 sowe get 3w-12w=-12 -9w=-12 so w = 4\3
