It is doubling every 2 hours n/22 = 2^t/2 where n = number of bacteria, t = time in hours t = 4 n = 22(2)^2 = 88 etc.

Yes...I'm wrong. This is not exponential growth, but simply n = 22 t. Sorry. In real life however, growth is by splitting and thus doubling and is usually exponential.
