Check My Answer Plz. In construction, floor space must be given for staircases. If the second floor is 3.6 meters above the first floor and a contractor is using the standard step pattern of 28 cm of tread for 18 cm of rise then how many steps are needed to get from the first to the second floor and how much linear distance will need to be used for the staircase? (Hint:use a ratio and don't forget to convert 3.6 meters to centimeters) 8.1 m <---- 6.7 m 1.4 m 5.6 m

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

convert 3.6 m to 360 cm divide it by 18 cm to find how many steps needed multiply this number by 28cm to get distance of tread.

Ah kk, So I was wrong...

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

you were guessing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope, 316/18= 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And 20*28=560, which can be turned into 5.6
