OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sum of the measures of the exterior angles of an n-gon, one at each vertex, is ____.

OpenStudy (smored):

always 360 degrees. it is a theorem.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

@smored not for an n-gon. It is 180(n-2)

OpenStudy (smored):

but it is EXTERIOR angles, not interior. Sum of exterior angles is always 360.

OpenStudy (smored):

180(n-2) is used for the sum of all interior angles.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

oh. my bad. But 360 seems really low. Cuz on a square, you have 4 angles with 270 degrees for exterior angles, right? 4x270=1080.

OpenStudy (smored):

the exterior angle of an interior angle is its supplement.|dw:1394253251799:dw|

OpenStudy (smored):

so 180-(interior angle)=(exterior angle)

OpenStudy (btaylor):

oh. my bad.

OpenStudy (smored):

nah, it's fine. i though it was the rest of the angle too before.
