From a horizontal pipe with an area A1 flows water in plug-flow (without velocity profile) with a velocity v1 into a diffuser. The water flows freely in a space where the overpressure with respect to the environment is equal to zero. The flow can be regarded as frictionless. Gravitation does not affect the system. Calculate the external force that has to act on the flange so that the diffuser keeps its original position. Given: v1=10 m/s; A1=10^-2 m^2; A0=2.1^-2; density of water = 1000 kg/m^3.
