OpenStudy (opcode):

How to memorize better? 1) Study in a quiet room. (Library perhaps.) 2) Study outside of your home. (Library perhaps.) 3) Study with basic tools then move on to using technology. 4) Have time to study! (Write a schedule.) How to do well during and oral and practical exam? 1) Review concepts to random strangers in a format they can understand. 2) Memorize all possible concepts that maybe used, write a short summary of the situation in action with the concept applied. (You won't use the writing part but still, it should help you memorize it.) How to reduce mental block? 1) Get plenty of sleep. 2) Assume a place and time where you can take short naps. 3) Play fast-shot with your classmates. (Objective is for each classmate to yell things from the current lecture that you have to apply or make use of.) 4) Unplug yourself from technology for a couple hours a day, to give your eyes some rest time and your brain as well. (One hour per day is okay.)

Actually @kaylala : @Opcode gave a perfect and simple example that books will also explain...books will just explain them with more detail and various examples. OP did an excellent job explaining and I don't think you would need a book just to be motivated and follow the steps OP gave you. :3
