A photographer moves closer to his subject and then refocuses. Does the camera lens move farther away from or closer to the camera film or sensor? Explain.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

I believe it moves further away. This allows for a larger object to become smaller.|dw:1394304609253:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't the person move in so he can get a closer look, why would it go in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what happens to the image distance as object distance DECREASES?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it increases? I am a bit confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.. it does.. ! so can u conclude from that what should happen?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lens goes inwards toward the camera film

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually does it go further away from camera film?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by using a camera It looks like it goes farther away not closer too it
