what is the interquartile range of the data set:5,6,7,8,9,10,11

OpenStudy (timmyk14):

I want to know if you understand what the interquartile range is, so what's the definition?

OpenStudy (timmyk14):

Okay, the interquartile range is, the difference between the 1st and 3rd quartiles of a data set. So knowing before we can find those we need to find the median of this data set. The median is 8.

OpenStudy (timmyk14):

Now give me a second to do the rest on paper (^_^)

OpenStudy (timmyk14):

The 1st quartile median is 6, and the 3rd quartile range is 10. Now subtract them to find the IQR (interquartile Range). That would be 4 :)

Do you understand it now?
