OpenStudy (anonymous):

x2 + 5x + 2 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x2 + 5x + 2 = 0 Please show the detail method. HELP! Thanks. :)

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

completing the square involves an identification of the coefficients in the general form Ax^2 + Bx + C = 0 you would need to divide the coefficient B by two then square it add it to the entire equation then you should be able to factor easily

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

Ax^2 + Bx = C General form (B/2)^2 Ax^2 + Bx + (B/2)^2 = C + (B/2)^2 then put it back to general form
