OpenStudy (superkossie):

Hi all, Does anyone know what book (if any) is used at MIT as reference for 18.01? I ask this because I see a reference to Rolle's Theorem (thm.1, p.800) in answer 2G-4 of the "Applications of Differentiation" exercise block. This could be a reference to a syllabus or to a book. If the latter I'd like to know what book since I'd like to use it too, next to the video's! So if anyone knows, thanks in advance for sharing! Greetings, Linda

I don't know what they used in 2007, but currently (see http://math.mit.edu/classes/18.01/2014SP/) they are using Text Book: Calculus with Analytic Geometric (2nd edition), by George Simmons.

OpenStudy (superkossie):

Thank you! I never got to that part, so this helps me a lot :) Greetings, Linda

The "Wayback Machine" http://archive.org/web/ archives a snapshot of websites... It allows us to see a website as it was in the past. Looking at mit.edu back in the fall of 2007, we find they were indeed using Calculus with Analytic Geometric (2nd edition), by George Simmons.

OpenStudy (superkossie):

Wow, and again it's true: you learn something new every day! I had never heard of "Wayback Machine"! Thanks! Greetings, Linda
