name any 3 proteins which has least no.of amino acids?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Mind to elaborate what you ask for? You just want random proteins with a specific size (\(M_{r}\))?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

name any 3 proteins which contains minimum no.of amino acids?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

And what is the minimum? I mean some consider insulin (50 amino acid residues) as the minimum protein, but it all depends on what you set as definition.... But I list some proteins and hope it works out. Cytochrome C (from human) 104 residues Ribonnuclease A (from bovine pancreas) 124 residues Lysozyme (from chicken egg white) 129 residues Myoglobin ( from equine heart) 153 residues Chymotrypsin (from bovine) 241 residues Chymotrypsinogen (from bovine) 245 residues Hemoglobin (from human) 574 residues Serum alnumin (from human) 609 residues Hexokinase (from yeast) 972 residues RNA polymerase (from E. coli) 4,158 residues Apolipoprotein B (from human) 4,536 residues Glutamine synthetase (from E. coli) 5,628 residues Titin (from human) 26,926 residues After Lehninger 6e and PDB

thomaster (thomaster):

How about TRP-Cage It only has 20 amino acids

OpenStudy (frostbite):

The very smallest I can think of: Glycylglycine (2 residues)

thomaster (thomaster):

But I guess you can manufacture any size protein. Are we talking about naturally occuring or artificial proteins?
