who discovered physics?
Physics is a human creation to interpret some phenomena of nature. It has evolved over thousands of years, though it only became more scientific/rigorous in the last 500 years or so. Take a look at the link. http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/History_of_Physics
Physics is a monstrous subject, so to name any one person with the discovery of it is impossible. I mean a caveman cracking a rock along it's fault line to make a sharp rock , could be a discovery and included in physics. Around Newton's time is when it started to get mathematically analyzed
Maybe if you include Copernicus, Galileo and DaVinci in there...you can go back, to at least the 1400"s. Newton wasn't until the 1600's
The dictionary definition of physics is “the study of matter, energy, and the interaction between them”, but what that really means is that physics is about asking fundamental questions and trying to answer them by observing and experimenting. So i can say physics is not discovered or invented by any of us, we just named the actions of MULTIVERSE as PHYSICS in order to understand, Classify, Manipulate, Replicate, e.t.c,. i hope i answered you question.
