OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

Please someone tell me what I did wrong, or if I have something left Factoring

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

\[36v^3-12v^2+48v-168\] \[12(3v^3-v^2+4v-14)\]

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

Is 12 the GCF ?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

you are correct so far - taking out THE GCF 12

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

So then it would be \[(12) v^2(3v-1)+2(2v-7)\]

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

12[ v^2(3v - 1) + 2(2v - 7)]

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

the 12 multiplies all that's in the square brackets

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

I cant see any way to factor the cubic polynomial ..

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

what I mean is there is no factors of the form (x + a)(x + b)( x + c) where a,b and c are integers

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):

So it is not factorable?

OpenStudy (danielbarriosr1):
