So basically what percent means is that, you break up something into 100 parts and you find the number of parts you need.

If I wanted 50% of 100. How would I do it?

I would break up 100 into 100 parts, thus it would become 1 part each and then I would take 50 parts from there. Thus I would get 50% of 100 = 50.

We have to do a similar sort of thing here.

Break 215 into hundred parts.

215/100 = 2.15 each.

Now we require 73 of those, so 73 * 2.15 = 156.95
