The music industry shrank during the 1970s since few people were interested in disco. True False

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

False lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say False. My understanding is that Disco PEAKED in the 1970s across most first-world countries, which would be a boon for expansion in the music industry. The shift in opinion towards Disco changed closer to 1980, in which the United States had a very public backlash towards the genre. (This didn't happen in other continents such as Europe and Asia, and the style continued to evolve and grow in those countries.) In fact, the question seems a bit vague— which portion of the music industry? For which countr(y/ies) and markets? What's their definition of "shrink"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Definitely false! It grew!
