FAN AND MEDAL ! In the function f(x) = 4(x^2 − 6x + ____) + 20, what number belongs in the blank to complete the square? Numerical Answers Expected!
@johnweldon1993
So to complete the square you take half the coefficient of the 'x' which is 6...so 3...then square it....so 9....and add it to both sides... So this is 9 :)
The answer is 9 ?
Yes @yeah_i_suck_at_math
Thanks, can you help me with another one ?
Of course :)
Two sets of quadratic equations are shown below in various forms. Line 1: x2 + 3x + 2 (x + 1)(x + 2) (x + 1.5)2 − 0.25 Line 2: x2 + 5x + 6 (x + 2)(x + 3) (x + 2.5)2 + 6.25 Which line contains three equivalent expressions? Line 1 only Line 2 only Both Line 1 and Line 2 Neither Line 1 nor Line 2
