What were the reasons the bomb should not have been used on Japan?

Mainly for the after effects. Although the initial blast leveled Hiroshima and Nagasaki and killed thousands, the radiation effects added to the body count over the following years due to cancers and other forms of radiation sickness that no one really knew about at the time. As some might have said, the lucky ones were those that died in the blast as opposed to the survivors.
