Help please. Determine whether the triangles are similar (Circle yes or no). If similar, write a similarity statement and the theorem or postulate that justifies your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u still need help with this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one is yes the second one is if u swich 18 and put it up by 17 yes and the third one if u switch 16 and 18 it will be no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so first one is yes the second one is yes and the third one is no (I think lol)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@johnweldon1993 am i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure the 4 I need help with are all yes, thought 14 and 19 were no but I was wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so i was wrong? good to know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so was i right or wrong?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Let me rethink that before putting it back up...lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okidokie, still not sure how BAE is out of order, thought B was where a triangle started so maybe BEA?

OpenStudy (dmb1215):

who said my name

OpenStudy (dmb1215):

what did you need

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

um I was called?

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

So the angles, look at the ANGLES of 14 and 19. Tell me is the two triangles in 14 have the same angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They do don't they? I thought they were a no but apparently they're yes?

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

They don't. The angle of the triangle to the right is slightly more obtuse compared to the triangle on the left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, that's what I thought but I got it returned with the two marked off to redo :/

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Really? Maybe you're teacher is wrong. Most teachers are xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Guess so lol, what did I do wrong with the order of the second triangle in #18? I had BAE

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

The order? CBD? Looks right to me! althought it might start as BDC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The one next to CBD would be BAE or BEA?

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

BAE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay sorry last one! The second one on #17 next to BCD would it be BEA? had BAE but was marked wrong.

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

It might be BEA but it also looks like BAE /)_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep that's what I thought lol, thank you for your help.

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

I didn't help all that much, sorry D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are similar only if their angles match

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, need help with #14 and #19 thought they were no apparently they're a yes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or if the sides are all proportional

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@primeralph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Need help with #14 and #19 (first and last one)

OpenStudy (primeralph):

19: BCD, ACE, By AAA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Should I put AA similarity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Reason I ask is because I had AAA for 16 and 17 and they got corrected to AA similarity @primeralph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ybarrap

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Stuck on #14 and #19

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

#14 Triangles NOT Similar: |dw:1394477735229:dw| They are not similar because $$ \cfrac{15}{20}\ne\cfrac{9}{9+7} $$ Does this make sense?
