When we are finding the percentage we represent it as a decimal. For example, 85 percent is 0.85, and 50 percent is 0.5. We multiply that by the number we are given to find the percentage. i.e. 42% of 100 = 0.42 • 100. So what would you multiply to find 81% of 59?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get this

OpenStudy (bibby):

You convert the percent to a decimal (by moving the decimal point 2 places to the left) Then you multiply the decimal value of the percent and the number
