What are the horizontal and vertical shifts of y = sin(x - π/4) + 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok if you know y= sinx curve then it's passes through origin (0,0) that means y=0 when x=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now in equation y= sin (x-pi/4)+2 first put y=0 and calculate x which is horizontal shift and second in above equation put x=0 and calculate y which is vertical shift
