Please help.. I am doing something wrong

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

I did 5(4x-3y=-4) 3(5x+5y=-5)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

20x-15y=-20 15x+15y=-15 ------------- 35x=-35 x=-1 But I am having trouble with the y

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

5y=0

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

@surjithayer

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

Would it be no solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y=0 means y=0 x=-1 and y=0 is the solution

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

how? because 5y=0? that automatically equals 0?

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

If I have -x+14x that would be 13x right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y=0 means what number multiply to 5 which gives 0 so ony 0 multiply by 5 gives 0 so y=0 and yes -x+14x= 13x
