As Mars revolves around the sun, it travels at a rate of approximately 15 miles per second. Convert this rate to miles per minute. At this rate, how many miles will Mars travel in 5 minutes? Do not round your answers.

HEEEELLPPPPP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um okay well I think what you would have to do first is multiple 15 by 60 since 60 seconds are in a minute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use dimensional analysis or in other words, just multiply by conversion factors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15*60 is 900 which would be 900 miles per minutes. Then you would multiply 900 by 5 since it is asking how far you would travel in 5 minutes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rate: _____mi/min Distance traveled in 5 minutes: ____mi

|dw:1394500681254:dw| 900 miles for 5 minutes in 900*5 = 4500 miles

Yep ^^
