n one or two paragraphs, identify the similarities and differences between the Depression of the 1930s and the more recent recession. Anyone please help ._.
Well for one, the GD is considered the worst economic downturn in modern history. The GD left 1 in 4 people without jobs by, I believe, 1931. In the current recession we've not exceeded 2/10 people, or 1 out of 5. The current recession hasn't called for food lines as the GD did. There was a sort of stimulus package in the GD established by Franklin D. Roosevelt called the New Deal which created gov't funded jobs to raise national morale and put money back into the economy. Obama and Bush did an actual monetary stimulus package. Like our recession, the GD was not only caused by the stock market crash of 1929 but also by the over production of goods and services after WW1. The current war in Iraq is a great struggle financially for the U.S.. Though both wars had different reasons for their economic impact they could be used as a similarity. -That's all I've got, good luck.
