I did all the steps but got stuck at one part... help! Write an equation of a line that passes through the point (3.5, 7) (-1, 20.5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you find the slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 13.5 over -4.5 .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73

OpenStudy (nikato):

so what are you stuck on?

OpenStudy (nikato):

your slope is correct by the way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay that helps I thought it was wrong. So after I got the slope I plugged that and the point (3.5, 7) into y - y1 = m(x - x1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got stuck because how would I multiply 13.5/-4.5 by -3.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write everything as a fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An improper fraction or just 13 1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

improper, then you can cancel stuff out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But then that would be a fraction divided by a fraction right?
