When do you use factoring by grouping

i hardly ever use it. particularly since i was never that fond of it .... it requires you to know that for come x^2 + bx + c, that the factors of c add to get b.

in alot of cases they give you a 4term that is already setup for grouping ... otherwise its just an extra step
