how is the graph of log(x+3) translated from the graph of log x? im thinking its shifted 3 units down

If we have log(x+a) where a is positive we shift it to the left a units If we have log(x-a) where a is positive we shift it to the right a units if we have log(x)+b where b is positive we shift it up b units if we have log(x)-b where b is positive we shift it down b units hopes this helps
