Translate an equation, then solve. Thirteen less than six times a number is equal to 11 more than four times a number. What is the number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6n - 13 = 4n + 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solving that, n = 12.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@Richard_Feynman Can you explain how you have reached that n=12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtract 4n from both sides and then add 13 to both sides to get 2n = 24. Then divide by 2 to get n = 12.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Okay. I just wanted to clarify something.
