The town council of Scooterville was about to put on the town's annual Country Fair. Councilmember Bert Lewis was responsible for finding a judge for the pie-baking contest. He wanted to find someone who would be fair and unbiased. He interviewed the following people who had these things to say: Dr. Denise Smilebright, local dentist - "I just love pie. Lemon meringue's my absolute favorite. I don't know why anyone wastes their time on rhubarb or key lime." Bernie Barkley, barber - "Sure, I like pie as much as the next guy. I had a great piece of Boston Cream pie at the Lehman's p
place last Sunday. I think they're gonna enter it in the contest." Eunice Ellsworth, principal of Scooterville High School - "I've always been a supporter of this fair. It gets the young people away from their computers. Maybe they'll even come out and try some of those pies. Hmmm, can't remember the last time I tasted a really good pie, one that makes your whole mouth sing." Abel Arnson, farmer - "If you don't use farm-fresh eggs, forget it. I can always tell if they're farm-fresh. It has a certain taste, and if it isn't there, well, it just isn't pie, in my book. Which person would make the most unbiased judge for the pie-baking contest?
