because of the restricted enzyme will create a specific sticky end (overhanging nucleotides). As long as the inserted and plasmids are cut with the same enzyme, they will fit together. If they would be cut with different enzymes (at least, with different sticky ends for the enzymes), they would not fit together. hope this helps bro
