Well Foreign trade does control the lives and create poverty if there is none. But if the rich control most of the income your life might as well still be called a slave.

Yes, D would have been what I would have said had I not been helping some other people at the time. Pretty much the same thing happened in the US after the Civil War. Slaves were freed, but effectively weren't much better off.
