Great work so far! The police department now needs you to take the original triangle and reflect it. For this step, you will need to identify and label three points on the coordinate plane that are a reflection of the original triangle. Next, use the coordinates of your reflection to show that the two triangles are congruent by the ASA postulate. You can use the distance formula to show congruency for the sides. To show an angle is congruent to a corresponding angle, you can use slope or your compass and straightedge (Hint: Remember when you learned how to copy an angle?). You must show all wo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already reflected it and my new coordinates are G' (-6,-3) C' (-6,3) W' (2,-3). They are abbreviated. I don't understand how to show the angles are congruent and how to show the congruency for the side.

@hanner_B_nanner

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

ok, take the coordinates from this one and plug them in as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which ones? All?

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

I did A' and C'

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

or, C' and W'... lol i renamed my points :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there any specific one i should do when doing this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 144 and 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If i do C', Cand G, G' I get 144 for both

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

They all have to be equal though... The translation, reflection, and rotation. Goodness..lol, I'm confusing my own self! Let me SHOW you what I did, it might be easier than trying to explain it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well then that means i totally messed up on the first SSS part..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

G' and G dont match up on SSS part x.x

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

UGH... I'm sorry :( I'm probably the worst "help" you've ever had... :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually first time i have used this lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hate this flvs stuff anyways.... Wish i could go back to regular school lol

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

ruined the experience then... lol

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

yeah, ikr

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

if you want, you can just use what I gave you. If you want to make it different, you can just change the points, and that should give you a totally different answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What teacher did you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think it would matter if i just sent it in and changed the name of the file.

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

O'Connor... i dislike that lady X( she's extremely picky. And yeah, that's fine!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

damn i have her too

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

hahaha!! too funny :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that all correct? I think Im just gunna send it in i have been trying to do it for days

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

do you have geogebra? If so, the only thing you're gonna havta do to get 100% is graph them separate. So do the original triangle and translation on one, then the others... then send in the paper separate too. I got all the work right, she just wanted them all graphed by themselves for SOME reason. GRRR. If you dont I can do it real fast....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have the program but it's dumb to use lol

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

sooo... yes, no, maybe? lol :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think i'm just gunna send it in and see what she says..... is her dba hard?

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

It's not too bad.You need to know what the x and y changes to in reflection, rotation, and y=x... Just go to the pages in the lesson and it will tell you. Umm... different ways of rotation...like 90counterclockwise, 90clockwise, 180... how to know if something is congruent, and you just say by using SSS, ASA, and the other one...whatever it's called I forget. lol. And that was pretty much it. I got a 100% on it && im terrible at explaining this stuff, as you can tell.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't wait to get out of this pellet but i have 5more courses to do

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

in mod 3 seriously take your time and read everything because it's really hard, && extrememly confusing. Yeah, Im doing 4 others and im waayy behind lol

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

this lady is the only one that gives me a hard time though X(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can i copy and paste these seperate in geobra?

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

no, I dont think so. All you gotta do is click on the button up top that says polygon to do the two triangle. It's really fast and easy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I usually do al these on paper x.x

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

ohhhh, not meee! lol if you wait just one sec ill do it for ya.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Coool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just wanna get this pellet over with.. Move on to the next chapter lol

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

lol forreal ;) well.. here ya go!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty !

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

no prob:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope its right hahaha she will get mad but thanks fr the help im gunna log off. take care

OpenStudy (hanner_b_nanner):

lol okay, you too! :)
