OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do we do if we want to meet someone in person on here?

thomaster (thomaster):

Could you explain the reason why you want to meet people in person on here?

thomaster (thomaster):

You gotta figure that out yourself then. OpenStudy discourages soliciting offline contact information, but we can't prevent you from doing that with other mediums, think of mailing/facebook/skype.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hmm. I don't recommend it. But, it doesn't always end bad, you know? :) I met my girlfriend on OpenStudy. I've known her for a year now. We've met. I've been to her house, played games with her, talk to her on and off the phone, and have even brought her silly gifts from time-to-time. She gave me a Duck Dynasty T-Shirt c: Remember: Stranger Danger. If you live with your parents, or feel they would discourage it, do not do it. However, if you're mature, pay your own bills and are generally responsible (such as I), then by all means do as you please. I've been several students from OpenStudy and tutored them in real life. That, along with my beautiful girlfriend (:

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Sure, come meet me -- ignore the knife collection *cough*

OpenStudy (ja1):

@Ashleyisakitty Pfft, I'm more afraid of your claws..... Nonetheless OpenStudy should not be a medium to hook-up with friends and such but when the CoC states "solicit" it means to ask for information or request it (i.e. I ask @thomaster for his address) so it really goes both ways here in terms of actually giving that information out (which I suggest you don't) but if you are really wanting to meet this person than try to set a meeting somewhere local between you too and public, always keeping in mind what @Compassionate said. Albeit remember that you never know who you may find, people often times go about the internet masked as someone else (like me ;) ) so just keep your wits about you when doing this :)
