Help please. If the price of gold went from $460 an ounce to $483 an ounce in one week, write an equation to find the percent change in the price of gold. Then determine the percent change.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically divide the old one by the new one. So it would be 483/460 and then multiply by 100 and then subtract 100 from it. So it would be: (1.05 * 100) - 100 105 - 100 5%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

percent change is (new-original)/original

It will still equal the same answer.

(483-460)/460 = 0.05 which is 5%
