5x+13<28 the solution set is, just the answer I can graph it...
sorry... u want to know how to solve for x in \[5x+13<28\]... yeah?
@12thman ?
sorry yes
its for properties of inequality
i have to graph it
yep, no worries so the inequality has 2 sides Left side Right side 5x+13 < 28 so first, minus 13 from both sides, what are you left with?
15
5x is greater than 15
perfect Left side Right side 5x < 15 now divide both sides by 5
x<3 ?? now how would you graph that with brackets to include 3
graph it by working out some points: y = 5x+13, and y is never greater than 28 so when x = 3, y = 5x+13 = ?
next, when x = 0 y = 5x+13 = ?
all my choices are 4, a b and c
what...?
just gotta chose do i shade left or right
graph of the inequality
show me the answers for the above 2 questions first, then we'll draw and shade it so when x = 3, y = 5x+13 = ? and when x = 0 y = 5x+13 = ?
28 and 13 ??
yep, perfect, so now we have 2 points: (3, 28) and (0, 13) the equation fits the equation of a straight line (y = mx + c) so lets graph that
|dw:1394709026083:dw|
hold up its a straight line with 0 in the middle negative 10 at one side and postive 10 on the other
|dw:1394709253746:dw|
|dw:1394709066313:dw| |dw:1394709092338:dw|
|dw:1394709166754:dw|
ok, now im with u, sorry
|dw:1394709245651:dw|
|dw:1394709322308:dw| 5x+13 <28 holds true for all values of x that are less than x = 3 so x = 2, x= 1, x= 0, x=-1 , x= -2, x= -3, x= -4 ...etc
